Letter from the Secretary-General

Dear secretariat, chairs, delegates, and advisors,

I am ecstatic to welcome you to the annual Model United Nations hosted by the Pan American School of Bahia (PASB), SALMUN, as this year's Secretary-General. This year, the conference will take place on May 24-27th, 2023. "Building Bridges, Not Walls: Promoting Peace, Inclusivity and Cultural Understanding" is the conference's theme. After all the social disparities heightened during the pandemic, as well as the intense level of industrialization, many minorities have been forgotten. As delegates, it is your responsibility to find the best solution in the hopes of a more fair and just world and I am sure you will each excel in your unique way. 

In this edition, SALMUN will have the honor to propose various and diverse committees, ranging from specials such as the American Congress to the Historical Security Council, entertaining topics such as the North Korean War. Our leadership team is working hard to make this conference an amazing experience for all delegates and attendees.
